08-11 Stock system with amp??

Has anyone hooked up an amplifier to the stock speakers and if so what kind of amp did you get and how did it sound? I have a 10 Focus S and want to make my system sound better and louder without spendings tons of $$$ and was wondering if the stock system would sound better with an amp.

I'm no expert here, but, you could probably, for maybe, $400 or less, get a used head unit, amp and sub. If you like having the bass up in your car (like me) I don't think an amp will help it sound better cause our stock speakers can't handle the low notes of the bass, but with a sub and amp, it would probably clean up the sound quite a bit. This is my non-expert opinion tho and wouldn't go doing anything before one of the experts chimes in

Yea i agree with you. I was gonna buy a kicker L7 and zx 750.1 amp but that with the box and install would be over $1000!! do you know of a good quality sub that hits decently hard and is cheaper? I love kicker but it costs so much

Oh man you are asking the wrong person about which make is good or has good sound... I can tell you just to look on ebay classifieds, or something like that, for used subs and such, and if you find something you like thats in your price range, then research it, google will be your best friend. Install? do it yourself and save the money! This form is full of people to help you with the process if need be :).
heres a couple i found on ebay just now, http://www.ebay.com/itm/KICKER-TS10L...item5ae58cad17

If you want to make it sound better, get a new head unit. Honestly between all the upgrades that i have done to my sound system ( Head unit, Door speakers, amp and subs), the head unit made the biggest difference. It was literal night and day for the sound quality.

Did you install it yourself? And if so how difficult was it?
