Interior lighting help, please

Hello there, I need some help with installing some simple LED lights in my 2008 Focus S. The LED lights are simple ones I got from my local Canadian Tire, they plug into a 12V outlet or cigarette outlet. I used that for a bit, but I want them to turn on when I turn my night time lights on. I tried tonight to figure out it on my own, I pulled out the selector switch and I skinned part of two of the wires that I thought were the correct ones but no go. Now the lights are a simple set up, 4 LEDs connected to a small circuit board with a on/off switch and two wires connected to the positive and negative contacts for the 12v plug. I don't know what else to say, if you have more questions I can certainly answer them to the best of my ability. Any help is welcomed! Also I did try looking in the self help area and couldn't really see anything pertaining to this. Thanks again, Justin

No one has any ideas on what to do? or what wires i should be looking for? i thought this would of been fairly simple for a form full of intelligent focus fanatics.

Ok Here is a photo of the Ford Focus Factory Electrical Wiring manual (2010 model) of the factory interior upgrade lighting.
here is were the factory lighting would hook into.

Close up

Im guessing the wiring you want to find will be attached to the center console under the radio. Your looking for a Blue wire in the cluster.
It would be somewhere around one of the 3 button clusters at the bottom (here is my stock center stack for reference)

You could always just wire it into a new switch/button and mount that on the dash somewhere then wire directly to the battery. That's what I did for my LED's.

I have the schematics for the fog light selector up on my How To install them but not too sure which wires are for the regular headlights.

Here is the link to the how to, if it helps. I know one is for power but not too sure which one.

Click ME! Schematic is near bottom of guide.

I have those diagrams as well, let me know what you need. I have the whole book. Now my book is for the 2010, but Im sure the other years are the same or close to it.

ah, see that schematic is perfect. When i first tried it, i tried using the wires right behind C205 main light switch. There is lots of room for the LEDS circite board to go, and the wires are easier to distinguish and find haha, so if you have the schematics for the C205 the main light switch, that would be super awesome. Also, i could do the switch idea, but then it wouldnt be much of a difference from just plugging them into the 12v outlet. I just like the idea of the LEDS coming on when i flip on my night time lights.

Here is the C205 plug diagram

Also this would be the factory plug for the Ambient Lighting control, and is already there. You would just have to hook into it like the factory would.
