New 2009 SES owner.. questions

Hey everyone, new to the Focus here. Just bought a Black 2009 SES 2-door 5-speed!

I've been enjoying the car, unfortunately I have a problem already with the radio. The treble seems to cut in and out randomly, it becomes muffled for a while and then goes back to normal intermittently. I've read about it elsewhere on the net but heard no solutions. Has this affected anyone else?

Are motor mounts a common problem? There is a clunk in the right front when cold over bumps, I should probably just get it checked out (shock or motor mount I'm guessing).

How do people find the seats are wearing? I'm surprised the cloth on the drivers seat is stretching already for a car that's only 3 yrs old...

Anyway, I hope I don't come across as complaining too much, I'm looking forward to figuring out this SYNC and bluetooth over the next while. I'm mostly concerned about the radio, if anyone can shed light it would be much appreciated!

Look forward to learning more on these forums... cheers!

Radio- sounds like the internal cross over is starting to fail. How are the mids sound? How do you feel installing an aftermarket radio? Also try something cheaper by installing aftermarket door speakers

There was a recall on the sway bar links failing prematurely. Go get it checked

Seats- possible previous owner wasn't taking care of the car.

Slammed and I have both installed aftermarket headunits as well as a ton of aftermarket modifications.
A clunking on one side is most likely from the front sway bar end link, they dont last very long. My seat is starting to show some ware, after almost 2 years and 63,XXX miles though.
have a look around and let us know if we can help.

My car clunks when going over a driveway hump, but shops say OK. 74,000 miles already!
Seats are not as good as either 2000-07 or 2012's, agree.

Sounds like a motor mount/end link/ stabilizer bar/strut issue as the previous posts mentioned. The spk. (tweeter) cutting out sounds like a crossover issue. I own a 2010 SE 5-sp. Very nice driving car especially since changing out the stock tires to Bridgestone Potenza 960's. Changed out the stock front door spks. to Boston Acoustics. Fantastic sound even w/stock head unit. I'd recommend changing out your manual transmission fluid. (Use Ford fluid. QT-MX5 I believe is the designation.) I did an early drain on my SE. Noticeable improvement! This car is so easy to change the oil/filter and drain/fill the tranny. Safe driving and enjoy your new ride!

Thanks for the replies everyone. It's odd the treble comes in and out very smoothly. Would fixing the crossover involve a whole new headunit from ford? I don't see myself installing aftermarket in this car as the stock unit is so integrated. I see I'm not the only one on this site with this issue, but I haven't read any solutions.

The trans shifts very well, I'm coming from an old jeep of course :). Thanks again!

EDIT: also only happens with the FM band, not aux inputs.. could a computer reflash fix it? or is it a hardware problem..

Swap out the radio is the only fix.
