2010 focus ses 2.0 odd sound all of a sudden

The sound came all of a sudden and its coming from the front of the car.I think it sounds sort of like a muffled snow tire or if a fender liner had come off and was rubbing the wheel.I have had it checked out at a shop and nobody can find the culprit of the noise. You can hear it at 20mph all the way up to 45mph where its real loud then goes away a little bit and then louad again at 75mph and mostly goes away at over 80mph.I have tried putting it in neutral and the sound never goes away.Has factory rims and tires with 17,500 miles on it.I have driven the car for more than 2000 miles before the sound came.Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

IF it was this, you'd hear it even if your going only 1 mph. To me sounds like wheel bearings.

If you can post a video will help us out helping you!

so by placing it in neutral you have ruled out a rpm/engine issue. now does it do this under load/accel or while coasting? is it more prevalent when turning left or right?

I added a video of the sounds it makes, you can hear them pretty good .In neutral makes no difference or turning left or right.Does not matter when accelerating or slowing down quickly or just coasting to a stop.I am having a hard time with the bearing idea but anything is possible.I had it up on a lift today took all the tire off messed around with the front drive shaft and listening to the bearing and it all looks and sound good to us but it does sound like a bearing issue kind of.While the tires were off I did rotate them thinking maybe the tire were cupped but I knew it wasnt it because thats not the sound it is making, but figured hey there off lets rotate.I know alot about the focuses but this one has me stumped.

About the bearings though,if it were them wich ones would they be because I think there are 4 arent there? One on each wheel and 2 under the engine ? I have never replaced them or heard of them going bad at 17,000 miles either.

Another possibility is the carrier bearing for the axle. Had one go on me at 35k and luckily got it into the stealership for warranty. Mine was nowhere near as loud as that but it was still noticeable. If you still have access to the lift throw it up there and use either a mechanics stethoscope or a flat screwdriver with your ear to the handle. Have someone spin the wheels and begin to poke around and try to narrow it down.

Good luck and keep us updated!
