So what is the point of lowering the car besides looks?

I don't want to bottom out going over speed bumps and I really don't want to actually sit lower when getting in and out of the car.

You won't bottom out anymore then you normally do. Hit a big enough bump or pothole and any suspension will bottom out.

The point is to lower the center of gravity for better cornering, but most people do it for looks and cut corners by cutting springs (I'm looking at you Honda scene).

Have you compared the clearance of our model to other cars? Our cars are a little higher in comparison to others in the same class, a noticeable difference. I've seen my car next to others like civic, mitsubishi, etc., the 09 Focus always has more clearance.
