Do Dealerships tint?

I recently purchased a 2011 Focuse SE (less than a week old). I have to take the car in to the dealer for a lock repair (defective). I was wondering if dealerships do window tinting and if it is recommended? I figured I may as well get it done since its in the shop.

..or am I simply better off to take it to a shop that specializes in this type of thing?

they might tint, they might not, but chances are if they do it will most likely cost more than taking to a tint shop...

i know when my gf bought her mazda 3 last year, the one lot we went to had some with tint. she bought hers from a different dealer and it did not come with tint.

as stated above, you would probably get a better tint job done at a shop that specializes in it. just make sure it comes with a life time warrenty

Everything is more expensive at the Stealership.

Go to a local tint shop and get it done by someone that tints all day long.

We had tint put on twice when we bought our 08' Mazda5. Dealerships out source tinting. I always get free tint when buying a car. Wait till the last min before siging or agreeing to the contract and tell em' you want window tint or no deal. It's worked for me everytime. The cost of tint compared to the price of what they make off of you make them easily afford it. Most have deals with tint places. Our wasn't dark enough the first time and they re-did it. Made the car look bad@$$ IMO, but I like the Mazda5 anyways, for a micro-van.

i got mine done at a dealership, and exactly what misfire said, they outsourced it... (mind you, it would have cost me twice the amount than a regular place, but i got mine free)

The dealer I've bought 3 Focis from uses a local tint shop. First Foci, they quoted me the tint shop normal price of less than $200 with a lifetime warranty. Subsequent Focis, they had a fulltime accessory guy working at the dealer and quoted around $500. So I went to the same tint shop and paid less than $200. Talking with the tint shop, they do ALL the local dealers. They also detail the trade-ins which cost $200 max to clean the inside, outside and under the hood. I even saw a few of the dealership gophers brining in new cars for tints.

I suggest skipping the dealership overhead/markup/profit and just go direct to the source.
