Air Conditioning Temperature

I recently purchase a 2009 Focus Coupe SES. It's an awesome car and I love pretty much everything about it.... except the A/C.

Most of the time, the air is just cool, not cold like other Ford's I've had. I'm wondering if that's typical with these cars, or if I should have it looked at since it's still under the Bumper to Bumper warranty.

Thanks!

My air was doing the same thing but i looked farther into and that it was so hot out recently the a/c can only change the temperature a certain degree. I am not sure exactly the temperature change, but i know that a portable home unit can drop the temperature 20 degrees. i take it that our car can change at least a 30 or so.....

Not sure if there is actually a problem with your a/c but just try it out when it cools down. i actually live in cleveland so i know how hot it was recently

I suppose that makes sense, but even on the cooler days, it didn't seem to get "cold". Since the bumper to bumper warranty covers it, I'll probably just have it checked out.

Thanks!

my a/c doesn't really blow arctic cold like my 200,000 windstar does (crazy). but i feel like its hot in my car because i don't have a tint and the inside of my car is pitch black (minus the silver dash). laws of physics, black retains heat, a/c doesn't do much. just my 2 cents. i usually roll with the windows down anyways

My ac is freezing cold (not really but you know what I mean)

I always have to turn it down after about 10min of driving. Even on 95deg 80%humidity days. My windows are tinted too so that might help a bit.

Sounds like I'll be using some of my bumper to bumper warranty while I still have it.

Have it checked out. You may have lose some freon. Captain Obvious asked me to add that the AC will blow warm air until you cool the ducts down. Also, if it's really hot use max AC which will recirc the air in the car.

09 Focus SES Coupe owner here.
Same problem with mine. Its all black with 33% tint all around- so that may be why. But I have been in plenty of black cars with great A/C. My 91 Toyota Pickup has some of the coldest A/C I have ever felt! Lol.

But I also have the warranty so I may have it checked out. Let me know if you do the same.
