Pillar Guage Pods

I want to install a dual pillar gauge pod in my 2008 Focus. Can anyone advise me how to remove the pillar? I'm guessing it's attached with the infamously breakable plastic clips. Also, could anyone recommend a high quality pod? I've read that some don't fit well, are thin and cheaply made, etc. As always, thanks in advance.

When me and Jeremy(Slocussvt) on here installed mine . He had to take the trim off above the door using a trim removal tool and after that was off he just pulled the pillar piece towards the middle of the car and it came unclipped . This is for an 07 Sedan too , not sure how the 08's are put together but I would say along the same line as I mentioned .

As far as attaching it we drilled small holes in the factory pillar , then ran all the wires from the engine compartment to the cabin and then up to the factory pillar then threw the holes we drilled then attached the Pillar pod that I bought from Glowshift.com . Then from there started putting it all back together and then the wiring for my Wideband and Voltage gauges .

this was me paint matching and testing the colors together

Then the tear down begins

Putting it all back together ,Pulling wire and figuring out where it needs to hook up.

Finally installed .

Do the 08's have pillar air bags? If so you would have to remove the air bag to be safe, so if in a accident it don't come flying off at you.

Thanks for the advice, but be careful!. Somebody embedded malware into one of the pics. When I tried to enlarge it, it tried to hack my system. The security software caught it, but it was a bad one.

Yea, that's why I think he has airbags in the pillars? And no one made any pods for it, cause you would need to disable the airbags, so they wouldn't launch out at you in a crash.

Nobody seems to carry pillar pods newer than '07. Can't even find 'em on eBAY. Why do most most of the aftermarket products stop at 07?

Read above there are airbags in the pillars. Airbag plus pillar pod = problem You would have to disable the airbag to install and no company wants sued because someone got in an accident and got hurt bc of this. You will have to go a different route or custom make your own pod for the pillar.

Found some universal gauge pods at Glowshift.com , you could try a dash mount pod since you have air bags in your pillars .
