New member intro and question.

Hello all. Brand new to the forum but I am not new to car forums. I have done a fair amount of work on my dads ford ranger and my honda civic using forums. This question deals with my mothers ford focus. Here it is with a little background.

My parents recently bought a 2010 focus and no more than 3months later my younger sister hit a pole in a parking lot. Lol. It is not hindering performance but it makes the car look like crap. The front driver side fender looks like tin foil and my parents are not gna fic it bc they dnt have the money. My siblings and I r gna get this repaired as one of her christmas gifts. It will be the only gift she gets if we have a body shop do the entire repair. I was thinking maybe we could order this part primed(cheaper), have some body shop paint it and then i could replace it. Is this fender really hard to replace or is this something i could take on? I have adjusted valve clearances, replaced an exhaust manifold, replaced a windshield washer pmp. Does this replacement compare or is it out of my league?

Any and all advice is appreciated.

Thank in advance.

-Jason

Welcome by the way. New fenders & sheet metal already come E-coated by the way. To do it right, I say take it to the shop to begin with. Most of the cost is going to be paint & materials anyhow. You have to take off the bumper cover & headlight out to get the fender off. By the way, where is this New Castle at?

So...

1. Order the part. ($120)
2. Get part painted. ($50-100)
3. Remove front bumper cover.
4. Remove passenger side headlight.
5. Remove passenger side fender.
6. Install new fender.
7. Reinstall passenger side headlight.
8. Reinstall front bumper cover.

Is there anywhere I could find a maintenance guide to do steps 3-8?

Thanks in advance.
