Moved to Exterior mods and Lighting chat. Technical chat is for technical discussions relating to general maintenance, electrical issues, engine trouble, and recalls.

I suggest you read their sticky threads on aftermarket HID installs. You might simply want to install some driving lights, clean your lenses or something else. If you decide to use some of those expensive Silverstar lamps, I suggest you read the back of the package that shows lamp life expectancy. That's why I still have standard halogen.

8500k is not going to improve your field of vision. Although the purplish hue is nice to look at, it's actually hindering and will probably cause more strain on the eyes. Good luck trying to drive in the rain at night, you can hardly see the road.

I would stick closer to the 6000k range if you can. It will be easier on the eyes, but not the best since you still have halogen headlamps.

Go to http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...ast-35W-or-55W You will need the H13's. It's your choice if you want the 35w or 55w bulbs and ballasts. All you need for the install is included in the kit. I am very pleased with the 5000k, if you start going any higher you loose usable light.

8500k would probably be a bluish whitish color. When u get up to 12k then thats purple but it also depends on who u got it from. Where i get my hids, 12k is purple 10k is blue 8k is blue/white 6k is white and so forth. So i think 8500k will be bluish with a tint of white in it but you will be able to tell when u hook them up. All u need for installation is just the kit. People are gonna tell u its illegal and to not do them but its ur car do what u want. I have had hids in my headlights and fogs for along time now and only been pulled over once because he said they need to be aimed right, thats all. Never told me they are illegal or made me take them off.

Look at the link I posted. You have to hook up the ballast for the HID's in the stock harness. You have to hook up a positive and negative lead. Then you install the bulbs into the housing, all-in-all very simple to install.

Ziggy Cockburn "A expensive kit.."

If you think $100 is expensive for a HI/LO & Fog HID setup don't get HID's. I think $100 is worth every penny for me to see better.
