svt "recaro" aftermaket seat heater

Any one use any aftermarket heated seat pads for there recaros? My heated seats have gone out and with cold michigan weather I miss them. I have priced them all out to get them replaced with oem ford parts but the heating pad itself is built into the foam part of the seat and would cost me 600$ to get the parts. So im looking to see if any of you guys with recaros have had to replace the heated seat pad and what you used or aftermarket. I need both seats back and bottom heating pads. I looked at the how to on to fix this and it looks like he was able to get just the elements for his recaros any one have some part numbers. the price quote was from mike but im going to call agian and ask to see

I'd call a good interior shop. My mom bought a 2008 Ponitac Vibe because she thought it was cute, but it didn't have leather. For $1,200 they put leather in it front and rear, and did the inner door pieces, and put heated seats in the front. The shop was in Muskegon I believe. A good interior shop should be able pull your seat off, and replace it with aftermarket and put it back in I would think. Just a thought.

I just got off the phone with Mike they no longer have just the elements for the recaro seats. They only have them with the foam part of the seat built in already. so im looking to the aftermarket for them. I can do the work in replacing the pads looking to see if anyone has used aftermarket ones. put up some links or what you used. thanks guys

Have you tried to fix yours at all? Usually it's just a wire that is burnt and usually just soldering it back together would fix your seats.

Once you take your seats apart, it's pretty easy to see where the short is with the black burn marks on the foam.

And, you're definitely certain it's not the switch?
HOW-TO: SVT Heated Seat Switch Fix

PS...
I moved this to Interior Mods & Upgrades Chat due to you asking about aftermarket seat heaters.
But, would you rather have your thread in Technical Chat, since that's the forum for asking about problems and solving them?

Yes I have checked the switch it still lights up. Power goes the switch and out and when I check it and the big plug in part under the set the switch is working right. I have checked and changed fuses also.

I replaced my element last year. It was around $40 at the dealership. I took the bottom cushion out the car, and took off the leather cover. The element just laid on top of the foam padding. You should easily see which element is burnt out. One affects the whole seat, so when you replace it, both the bottome and back elements should work again. It took about an hour for me to do.
