I've had that for a long time and it's held up extremely well. I've never had a problem with the lower disc "moving". But, I admit I do use it mostly for woodworking. I have had the occasional need to grind on some metal though and haven't had an issue. Those discs are peel and stick so I guess it's possible the steel could transfer enough heat to soften the adhesive.

i ran some wires through there as well they have been like that for a year and are still great
