Removing arm rest in manual zx3

Does anyone else have a slight problem with the design of the ZX3s center arm rest. (manual trans) Maybe I just do 'cuz I like to have the seat laying back a little. But it always annoyed me when going into or out of 2nd and 4th, elbow hits the arm rest. So...I'm gunna yank it out. Just the top part that goes up. Anyone have any good advice on this or anything? Thanks in advance! =)

Don't worry, you aren't the only one that hates it. I've heard from some people that flipping it around helps, but I have no experience with that.

On the flip side, I think I'm the only one that likes it. It doesn't bother me any, on the street or on the track.

I like it too. I guess because I'm tall and my arm fits perfect on it :)

Don't give me any problems, but if you were to get a short throw shifter I think it would start to be a pain in the ass then. I always wanted to ask someone that has a short throw if it gives them problems

I dunno, I find when I'm shifting into 2nd or 4th I keep banging my elbow on it, even when it's in the up position. I think a short shifter would help, keep my arm straighter so I wouldn't hit it. But I can't find one for the 2.3l that has a mush shorter (less tall) shifter height. So far I've just been finding short shifters that shorten the throws, not the height. I'll keep looking I guess. Thanks for the input guys.
