Can you take a picture of what you have?

If you have LEDs, then you'll have to buy different ones, and very carfully remove the old ones and soder in the new ones. I don't know how tight of a space it is.

I noticed this too when I took mine apart....There was no green backplate...it has a white sticker on the back of the LCD. The LCD display is tinted. I couldn't figure out how to get the "green off". I removed the white sticker (which you cannot put back on) and put the blue electrical tape over the back. It did nothing but make it real dark...you couldn't see it. I removed the blue tape and had to put a white piece of paper behind the LCD screen to replace the white sticker I removed. That made the LCD green again. I don't think I can change the LCD in my car because theres no backplate behind the LCD screen like in the directions.

I did notice that I also have 6 LED's behind the screen soldiered to the board, but they are VERY difficult to get to. At this time, I haven't attemped to take apart the gauge cluster again...too much frustration.

The white piece of plastic behind the LCD display has the green on it that needs to be sanded off. It is white on the front with a green on the back. Let me know if this helps!

I... am an idiot.
I thought that the tint was what made it green... apparently i was very wrong.
DO NOT REMOVE THE TINT!!
the tint is what makes it so that you can see the LCD numbers.. if you remove it, you are screwed... just as i am.

btw.. does anyone know where i can get a replacement circuit board or instrument panel? to fix my huge mistake?

Dude, you're doing this the hardway. Go on ebay or speedhut.com and get indiglo overlays. They cost like 30 bucks and go over your gauges and use electromagnicient film to give lumenence.
