Add Power Windows and Door Locks

Hello all. I was interested in adding power windows and door locks to my manual ones. The reason I did not get power to start is cos I could not find a 5 speed with power, only the SVT. Any ideas or suggestions? I am new to this site so if someone has already been talking about this please let me know. I am here to learn and contribute as much as possible.

from what ive read on here power locks are a longshot unless youre going to do them yourself. i guess the focus locks use a cable-driven lock instead of a rod, and its a lot harder for a place to install them without modding the lock. as far as windows, im not sure

Cheapest way to do this is to go to the salvage yard and buy a driver and passenger door with them in it. swap all the internal parts and door skins. Also remember to get the door jam boot and wireing harness with it. If any ? on this pm me and I can walk you through it.

i have manuel door locks on my lx, but i purchased an alarm system through my dealer (karr alarm), that gave me a lock on my driver side door that locks and unlocks with a button (when i acctivate, deactivate my alarm. it also locks when i start driving my car, and unlocks when i turn off my engine) my dealer has told me i can get the other doors done the same way for 80 bucks/door (since i already have the alarm installed) but i have never really felt the need to get that done yet. i will probably shell out the 80 bucks to get the passanger door done, but i rarely use the back doors, so i dont think its worth the money for me. you might want to look into doing it this way, IMO. its not exactly like power doors, but it would work just as well for the most part, and you dont have to worry about your doors being stuck shut.

hey urn, so when you activate alarm, or start driving the driver door locks, and when you deactivate the alarm or turn off the engine it unlocks? But only the driver side door?

actually, now that you bring it up white, mine arent "power" either lol they just unlock/lock with the remote...so i guess its more of a keyless entry than power windows...but you could sit in your car and play with the remote if you were too lazy to flip the lil buttons lol

that is exactlly how it works right now. i really like it because 99% of the time i am the only person in my car. i will probably be adding the passanger side front door with part of my tax refund. (it will make it alot simplier on me and my fiance when we finally get married) but for starting, i like it alot. it is not quite as convienant as full power locks, but it works for us that bought a manually locking car. (and it was a lot cheaper for me to get the alarm from the dealer then shell out the extra green to upgrade to the SE, especially since i probalby would have added an alarm to that car too)
