ZX4 - No Rear Interior Light - Any Mod Ideas

My son's biggest beef with my car right now is that there is no "backseat" light. I can't believe there is no light for the backseat. It's dark back there when you are trying to look for something. Anybody put a light in the backseat somehow?

I'm looking for ideas on simple and cheap lighting for the back that looks good too. Anybody done it and can post pictures? I'd be surprised if others don't have this complaint and some sort of resolution.

I found this picture of a second dome light in the SE section of the Gallery. I think this is a really neat idea and I might try to do it myself one day.

That's awesome. I sent him a PM to see if he has any details on how he installed it. I hope that wasn't too complicated or expensive, cause that's just what I need.

you can relocate the dome light, or install a new one. Ive never done it, but im srue the wiring in hard at all. You could just tap into the hot wires from the front dome light. Or, you could just install some neons. They even make white neons.

Yeah, I was surprised there were no domelights back there either.

yeah, it was hard for me to see, when the baby is in the backseat, and I quickly try and find her bottle at a redlight, lol.........

I installed neons under my seats, a soft blue is what I have now at night, just because she is always throwing stuff on the floor, lol

Anyone know where I can pick up a dome light that will look like it belongs? I'm thinking I like this idea. My other alternative is like eazyrider_tim and doing neons under the seats. I'll be looking at the car to see what options I have (as soon as I get it back from the transmission replacement).

Don't the wagons come with a second dome light? If so, you could get one of those and wire it in like the they are in the wagon. I would love to be able to see in the back of my car too.
