i f'd up

well i finally got some paint and the radio bezel thing off so i went ahead and painted it. the spraycan said no sanding required so i just washed it good to get the oils off it and it came out looking like crap. it was rough and spotty and really really bad. so i sanded the paint off sanded it again and washed it then made my dad paint it and it came out looking good in the end. i will get some pics of it in a bit when i get my hands on a digital camera.

When I did mine it said no sanding needed. I didnt believe it so I sanded with 400 then 600 grit, primed it, then painted it. Came out lookin amazing.

Maybe your dad is just cooler then you? Just kidding, you should really always sand with around 1500-2000 grit just to give the paint something to stick to, then sand the paint and do again if you have to. Good that it turned out though.

do you mean 1500-200 after the primer or between paitn coats or what? because doing that before any paint would make it pretty hard for anything to stick to it.
