Hello, this is my first post on the forums.

I would love to do this mod, I'm not clueless as far as electronics is concerned but I just bought my first car (2000 ZX3) and am not familiar with car wireing. How are the lights powered? The battery? If so, how are the cables run to the battery and their connections?

if ur gonna do under your dash, just get some cathodes ... its so much better than neon tubes, cathodes are like... 1/4 the size of a big neon tube. probably smaller than that...and they are just as bright as a 12" neon.
PM me if u want some details, i'll have pics of what i did thsi weekend

Thanks for the replies.

I have everything set as far as the equipment and wiring is concerned with the exception of the know-how on how to run the wire(s) from the battery to, say for example, under each seat, to each air vent, under the dash near the pedals and the passenger side? I have tried to get access to the firewall of the car to see if I could slip in some wires through them but haven't been able to find a spot for it. Is there an easy way of getting the wire from the battery to the inside of the car/in the dash?

for under the seats i just ran it along the center console. for the dash it's pretty easy when the drivers side is the easiest for you to bring the wires in on the drivers side. I just ran the wire across to the passenger side between the the center console and where the bottom of the radio bulge is. (wires slide nicely between them) no idea about the vents. I'll grab a pic of where i brought my wires in tomorrow when there's more light.

I have some LED accent lights in the front on the driver and passenger side. I just ran a wire from a fuse(I used the parking light fuse) on the drivers side and did what one of the other guys said and just ran the wires between the radio bulge. Get something you can wrap the wires around and they should just push right through to get to the passenger side. You may blow a fuse a couple of times so I would have a couple just laying around, but this is a quick and easy way to do it. Not real pretty unless you tidy up the wires. But easy
