Most people do paint then themselves...... some people go really cheap and buy the sticker overlays...... Some people pay big bucks for someone to paint them for them.

Krylon duplicolor is your friend for diy paint jobs :) if you want to go REALLY good quality, you'd go with a dupont type paint.

According to your profile, I'm assuming you have toreador/sangria red just like me.(Only thing I can think of that would be maroon looking, paint code FL or FN)

I just did some interior stuff today using the duplicolor stuff... came out excellent. Just take your time, and read the sticky on the subject. Whatever you do, don't rush or overdo it. Keep it clean looking, and you will be happy with the results.
I may post pics tomorrow if I dig out the cam. Just did the 2 round vents and some radio pieces so far and it looks good already. Almost like it should be like that from the factory.

To get the best possible match get your paint code in the driver side door jamb as well as your VIN number. Your paint code should be located on the lower left hand corner right after the word, EXT PNT. You say your car is maroon looking so it might be code FL. E4 would be Vermillion red which is a bright red. The VIN # may be needed because alot of paints have varients. Then go down to your local Dupont certified paint store give them the code and if possible have them mix it in a spray can with Dupont Vinyl Paint. The Vinyl paint also can be adjusted from low, medium and high gloss. You'll just need to ask them. The Dupont vinyl paint also comes premixed with the adhesion promotor. Sanding is not nessacery, but most prefer the smooth feel. If they can't put it in a spray can then I recommend a Preval sprayer. How much paint you will need depends on a number of factors such as what your painting, what color your painting over and the overall coverage. Any more question/concerns, feel free to ask :)

It's a lot easier than it looks. Most of the parts you are likely to paint are easily removed with a flat screwdriver.

Don't just get a "close" match with the paint. If you are going the Duplicolor route, and you have the FL paint code, you want the Toreador Red (just another name for Sangria Red). I found it to be an awesome match to my exterior paint.

If you have ever bought the touch-up paint from Ford, like I did, you would notice that it comes in a "bottle" that looks suspiciously like the Duplicolor ones but with Ford labeling. Makes you wonder who their supplier is.
