Unhappy Overhead Console

I just bought my Focus this past Thursday and on Monday I'm taking it back to the dealer so that they can install a sunroof and spoiler. The problem I am having is that the overhead console with the maps lights/sunglass compartment/garage door opener thingamajigger goes back pretty far so they're pretty much planning on installing a limosine sunroof, which means that it's going to start at about where the front seat headrests are. I wouldn't mind this so much if the entire overhead compartment piece was useful, but I don't have a garage, much less the need for that last compartment.

Is there a selection of overhead consoles compatible w/ the '05 map light? I removed the piece yesterday to see how it was all laid out underneath. Appears to be a held on by a metal frame (itself appearing to be easily uninstallable were I to pull the headliner down a bit). Is it safe to assume that if I wanted a different overhead, I'd need the plastic parts and metal frame and a different headliner to compensate for the shape change?

boo hoo on me

What do they do on 05s with a sunroof factory-installed? I'd have them do something like that, it's obviously all Ford OEM stuff...

I was looking at an '05 ST from the dealer and drove it for a few days while they did the numbers (didn't work out, obviously) and it had a sunroof. Essentially there were the map lights then the sunroof controls. Nothing else. Because of that, there was no gigantor metal frame set so the headliner was a normal shape. The console that I have is, like, a foot and a half long. I'd be happy with just the map lights to tell you the truth!

As an update, I took the car back to the dealer today and discussed options as far as the overhead console goes. The people are the shop should be removing the entire console and replacing just the plastics framing the map lights. Hopefully I'll get a call from the shop tomorrow with an explanation what they're going to do.

In the interim, I'm stuck driving a boat of a Taurus. Boo hoo.
