CD Case compartment handle

When I bought my car a couple years ago I mistook the little CD case compartment as the hood latch release and pulled really hard on it, snapping the handle right off.

Just thought of it today. Does anyone know where I can get a new handle and how to install it? I have the part I broke off if its possible to glue it back together.

It's the later model MK1, 2005 if that matters.

Your best bet might just to find an 05-07 in a junkyard and replace the part.

If I'm thinking of the right part, you squeeze the upper back portion together and you can pop the compartment off/remove it. Depending on where it broke, get it out of the car and look at it...it might be repairable with glue.

Thanks for telling me how to get it out, once I popped it out I noticed that nothing really looked broken. I got the handle that's been in the same spot in my room for a couple of years now and just popped it right back into place. Works perfectly now.

Thanks for saving me a couple bucks!
