Nope, that's called a work around. Even though it's minor if there's any electricity leaking where it's not supposed to, I want to fix it.

So you want to re-wire the entire car ???

Ford designed the circuit for an incandescent bulb and determined that a few mA of stray current wouldn't matter as it wouldn't be enough to light the filaments in the bulb.

If you want to remove the dome light wiring from the central timer module and run new door switches and the dome light wiring straight from the fuse box it will work, but not with the delay and be a nightmare for anyone how has to t-shoot the circuit. Or you can wire in a pull-down resistor ...

I was thinking maybe a worn out door switch? Is this something that I can ignore and just leave it alone throughout the whole night every night? It is very dim but I don't want to destroy something.

Everyone else in the thread said it is normal. You can either live with it, add the pull-down resistor, or swap back to incandescent.

Where do I get a pull down resistor? Do I have to solder?

I would try here: http://bit.ly/1nQdpCT

I would think the local Radio Shack should have these also.

Keep in mind, I have never done this and probably wouldn't bother (I hate and suck at soldering), but ...

Yes, you are pretty much going to either need to solder the resistor into the existing wiring, solder the resistor to wire leads and splice into the existing wiring, or solder the resistor across the LED.

Personally, I would do the last one, but I don't know how careful you need to be with heat and the LED lights.

(You don't necessarily HAVE to solder - the dome light is a festoon bulb, so you MIGHT be able to tuck the resistor leads under the contact wires of the bulb holder - it should work, but obviously won't be as good a connection.)

Fixed it, paid a dollar for a two pack of 1 watt resistors, wrapped it around each end and called it a day. Took care of that.

Dome light trim

Where did you buy the LED interior light? Does it come with a new trim piece? My trim piece is broken and I cannot find a replacement, unless any of you know where I can find one!
