backup camera

just wanted to know what you guys thought about this back up camera? I'm looking around for one right now. I want a rather large screen, color screen, and night mode. This seems pretty good for the price to me. opinions? Also, does anybody have any other good suggestions?

I saw that at Sam's for $100....but it wasn't hooked up. so who knows the quality of the system? It was tempting, but the monitor just seemed too large to fit in with the rest of the dash.

It also seemed too thick to mount on the visor....but I'm still interested also.

It's a 3 door focus, You actually need this? I've commented before I'd like to have one on my ZX5, but friends ZXW wagon really needs it.

ya, it really is pretty necessary. the rear window is the smallest rear window I've ever tried to look through. It's terrible for parking in school and backing out of my garage.

blue, I plan on making it either flip down from the roof somehow, or cutting out a square in the the visor so it sits flush. haven't figured out how yet, i've tried a couple things.

i was also looking at this

Agreed....the rear view out of my ZX5 is terrible, and dangerous if you have kids, toys, animals, etc.

My back-up monitor is a little too small (2")...but at least I can see my whole driveway to the street. Without the camera, my rear-view mirror shows me the neighbor's house across the street, and nothing else.

My camera has a wireless connection to the monitor....made it easy to install. I was also considering modding the driver visor by cutting a square hole and embedding the larger monitor. But I'm also considering getting a double-DIN monitor/audio system with a camera input. That might be the best-looking solution, at the highest cost...>$400.

ya, well money's really a problem for me =p i only work nights after school. So I'm thinking that cutting a hole to make it flush with the visor would look great. but before i get anything online im gunna check around here

Update to this deal(the monitor from the OP)......I saw these things at Sam's for $80. Good price for what you get. I still haven't seen the setup turned on however. If the monitor's crappy .........?

I had a backup cam... one of the license plate frame ones hooked up to my in dash DVD player... was great always had it on wven while driving was good to see the blind spot a little bit since they are so wide angle... But it died a horrible death od snow and cracking lenses... But I think its worth it... get one

X2

i drive a zx3 and i find that using the side mirrors as well as my rear view i have no problems with visibility... a truck or van might be a different story...
out of curiousity though where would you mount the lcd screen?
