Radar Pod?!

Ok, so I was looking at something and I ran across this...

http://techronics.com/index.cfm?fuse...roduct_ID=5458

I thought it was pretty cool, I have never seen it before... anyone seen it?
Know how well it works? Know if its legal in Cali?

I wouldn't mind doing a project with this in mind!

I dont know about that, but I have a Escort 8500 X50, and it will pick up a police officers radar like 2 miles away on the freeway and even laser. The police officers on I-75 from Florida to Georgia hide on the overpasses over the freeway and are very hard to spot until its too late if your speeding, and I never knew how many there were, until I got that radar detector, there were like 20 from the GA-FL border to Atlanta one day all hanging out on the overpasses hiding behind the signs they post on those bridges telling you about the next exit.

The only problem I see with that guage is if it works to the sensitivity you need, it will be constantly going off when your travelling past automatic sliding doors. Mine does that so I unplug it when I get into the city or near malls and stuff.

If anybody finds any of these things in stock anywhere, please post about it. Apparently the model is discontinued and hard/impossible to find.
