Another Power Window ?????

Kinda wondering if there is anyway to have the one touch power windows on both sides of my hatch. The drivers side is already that way, ( where you just push the button once and the window rolls down automatically ) just wondering if there is anyone who knows how to make the pass. side do it.

That is something built into the little switch. I dont think there is any way to modify the stock window switch, so you may need to find another stock unit that has that. I dont know if any new ford cars have that feature, but my best guess would be to look at the new mustangs. But even if it did work, you will have to get out your multi-meter and start testing connections and altering wiring harnesses.

Anything is possible if you have the money to pay someone, or the tools and know-how.

yeah i dont know why only the drivers side does it on most cars. it really cant be that hard for the manufactors to ad this feature to all the switchs.

Yeah my best friends parents have an 05 Avalanche and every window in it is one touch.....so nice. Im like you, I can't understand why they don't do it on all the windows, or at least both front ones.

The one-touch is controlled by a single relay located inside the drivers door. Therefore, you'd probably need a relay for each door to add the one touch down.

I have a Haynes manual haha. I did a manual window to power window swap, and I found that it's all about the relay. The switches are the same on both sides, except for that added "step down" on the drivers switch which activates the relay, and sends that window down on it's own.

Its not ALL about the relay. Like yz04 said, there is an extra step on the switch.

trust me it is about the relay hehe . There is no room in a Focus power window switch to have a feature like one touch built in. Like I mentioned earlier, I converted my Focus to full power windows, and the relay is activated by that step down in the drivers switch. The relay is held open by + or - current (forgot which one) until the window hits the bottom of the frame. Then the relay disengages. Look up how relays work. I had to learn about relays myself when installing my alarm

There's also a limit switch feature in the driver door....which reverses the window direction if for instance your hand gets caught. On many cars that feature is built into the window motor itself.

This sounds like an extremely difficult mod to pull off. If anybody does it to a USA Focus, it might be a first.....
