Talking I NEED this HVAC unit!

So this is the best looking HVAC unit I have seen in a foci and I was wondering what if anything can someone tell me about it... it would look to me to belong to a MK1 but i'm not 100. So what is it and where can I get one? BTW the unit itself seems to have been converted to blue so don't get confused. (and for those in the know... yeah I think I got the pic from FJ)

It wont work in our cars, you have to remove EVERYTHING behind the dash and swap it out with one from europe. i have a link to one on ffoc. you would also need to get one from a german car since theirs are LHD.

Everything huh? Thats much more than I thought... so is this specific to a certain trim level or was it a standard option in europe? And what years are we talking about?

Yes, EVERYTHING. I think it came on the higher level trims, such as the ST170, RS, and Ghia i think? I think it was an option too.

You need these

1) Digital Module
2) EATC Heater-A/C box complete
3) EATC sub-harnesses
4) External temperature sensor
5) Sun sensor

None of which came on our car.

Heres the link i was talking about

It's definitely a lot of work, but I've been contemplating it now that I have another daily driver. I don't have it at the moment, but I may tackle the job in the future.

Also some corrections: it was not available on the RS (climate control incorporates the A/C condenser, which drains HP when engaged), and it was optional on pretty much everything else from 1999-2004, I believe. It is most often seen in the ST170 and Ghia though.
