STS Comparison - Steeda Tri-Ax VS CFM

I've been browsing previous threads regarding STS's, and it seems everyone has mixed opinions on whats the best (in their perspective), but I havent yet seen posts which solidify answers to some questions I have with both of these..basically, my car is in need of a new STS. I've broken it down to these two options, but cant decide what I want to go with..so any help here is appreciated. Can anyone compare these both? Im looking for a shorter throw mainly, with the least throw possible (personal preference)..opinions on these both? Thanks

i recommend the CFM. the shift points are shorter and its adjustable. you get a shorter 'throw' and you can drop it as low as you want.

FC race STS hands down. Its the shortest available throw on the market. I just put one in my car. It feels awesome. I swear it does'nt move more than 2inches in any direction lol.

MLBaseball is selling one that will fit your model year. Only the early years can use it. Check out the buy/sale forum.

yeah it sits alot lower than my factory one did. Sometimes I go to grab the shifter and its not there cause its lower lol. But it only took me five years to give in and get one. Has far has travel its short and there is no play at all in the shifter. Very tight and mechanical feeling. Kinda of reminds me of my mother in laws mini cooper s. The effort is alot high but nothing I can't deal with. It really made the whole car feel different. Alot tighter feeling. Its alot funner now rowing through the gears.

Here is a pic of it installed in my car (I don't have the boot on it cause I need a new shift knob since I don't have the reverse lockout on mine). Yeah its low

ok its alot shorter than the stock one. Here is a another pic

I have the CFM because it shows that it's a full 1.5 inches shorter than the Steeda... I love it, absolutly no complaints. It's so short that don't be surprised if you miss a few gates while you're gettin used to it.

hmm..Im am stuck now lol..CFM or FC Race? The race one looks really short, but its only $100 compared to $170 + shipping for a new CFM which has no shift knob

The FC race is the shortest throw available. Has I'm getting used to it I'm liking it more and more. It also makes me think WTF!!! ford was thinking with the stock shifter. It had so much play and travel it wasn't even funny. I haven't had any grinding yet ether like I would with the stock shifter. I guess cause I so much more leverage with the longer stick that it would just try and jam it in there. Now if it doesn't want to go in gear it doesn't go in gear. I assume that's due to much higher effort from stock. So overall it shifts much better and I'm suprised. I wasn't expecting it to feel the way it does so I am very happy. Best mod under 100 bucks I've ever spent next to the cam gears of course.

hmm...I really like the idea of really short throws, my friends GSR is insane 1inch throws, I swear it doesnt feel right but at the same time I love driving the thing.., but Im thinking about finding a taller shift knob maybe to go on this so I wouldnt have a problem reaching it normally to shift..is there any way you could get a digicam maybe and take a vid of how short the throw is?? That would be the deciding point for me, Pleaseeeee and thank-you? lol, for rep!
