I have. I used an autogauge 5" tachometer. If you want to use an aftermarket tachometer in your car, you will have to buy an adapter from somewhere like ford racing or autometer. The most difficult thing that I would say was drilling the hole in the firewall. If you replace your gauge cluster with one that has a tachometer in it, you won't need the adapter.

get a ford racing tach driver from summit, and your choice of tach, then install the tach and tach driver with their included instructions.

if you need to know which CPS wires to splice into, i can try and get a pic of mine.
