Red face Some new interior paint...

Well, I finally decided to start my full interior color change. I have always wanted a black interior with silver accents. So, I decided to start with something simple... like the vents.

I did the corner vents a few days ago and didn't get any pics, but here is one while painting the others:

Here's how it turned out:

I can't wait to get home from school and start tearing apart the interior to paint it all black

It was a nice day out (75 and sunny, 15% humidity with hardly any wind) so I figured it was a perfect day to paint. Here is what I tackled today. Let me know what you all think:

And the finished product:

I can tell you all one thing, I will never use anything but SEM paint products whenever I am painting plastic or vinyl. I used a a little over 1 full can to do both rear door panels, the kick panels up front, and the thin trim piece (above the kick panel) between the dash and the door. I started on a new can to finish the 2nd panel so I wouldn't get any splatter from the nozzle. I couldn't be happier with the results! It took me 3 hours from start to finish. Next nice day (maybe tomorrow), the front door panels.

I love the look of what you are doing. I plan on painting some things silver on the interior of my sedan as well :).

Nice. Now you can park your car on the street, and the curb matches!

Lol...Couldn't have said it any better.

Love the dark interior. Any ideas on how the paint will wear?

The curb is in the parking lot at school, that's why I didn't have a problem doing it. I just moved my car after I did it so no one would know its me, lol.

As for the paint wear, since it is SEM color coat it is designed to be more like a dye than a spray paint. And it is supposed to be fade resistant. Kind of like how Krylon Fusion is designed to "fuse" with plastics, this works the same way, just better and much more flexible. I have already tested it and it does scratch but that might be because I tried scratching it off only a few hours after it dried to the touch. It doesn't flake like spray paint does because it is flexible and the layers don't build up as thick. I'll let you know in a week or 2 how it is holding up.
