LED Map lights...finally

As most of us probably know by now most LED BA9s bulbs don't work in the Ford Focus because the polarity does not match the housing in our vehicles.
Solution: Solder lead wires to the LED bulbs, completely insulate the casing and base of the bulb using shrink tubing or electrical tape allowing only the leads to protrude then hook the leads to the appropriate site to make them work. Total time spent: 20 mins.

i used superflux LEDs from oznium, siliconed them into place, and then connected the wires accordingly.

Oznium? Never heard of it. I know LED's continue to get brighter and brighter. They are pushing 1000 lumens from the SSC P7 and Cree as well, but these are simply too bright for the inside of a car. One big problem with LEDs is that they naturally put out light in a forward direction, instead of a spread direction like incan. The plus side? 110,000 hours of constant use without ever burning out. LED's are NOT easy to solder wires to because their positive and negative contacts are nothing more than pin-sized leads that are very breakable. It can be done, it is just not conventional yet. They need to bring out standardized sized bulbs that simply need to be inserted to work.
