Change color of gauges?

Don't know much about gauges and stuff, but what is the cheapest ways to make my gauges glow red instead of green?

Thanks!

Hmmm...well you could get universal bulbs, that's a cheap way. It's about 7 bucks.
They got red, green, blue and stuff.

Hope that helps!

P.S. Nice color choice. Red is badass.

I'd love to do that too...although right now my interior lighting w/ stock green gauges & a red stereo (Kenwood unit I picked up on clearance for $33) looks REALLY sweet.

Okay, but how complicated is it to change out the bulbs? Can someone guide me to a good how-to on changing out gauge bulbs? What kind of, and how many, red bulbs would I need for the project? I also have heard that the bulbs tend to blow, and it's quite a hassle...

I believe there is a green film on the back of the gauge overlay. You will need to sand it off very carefully. The green glow from the gauges is caused by this and simply installing red bulbs will not give off a red color. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, that how-to has all of the links dead. So no help. If it's a quick, simple, and cheap mod, I'll do it. If not, I won't worry about it.

So is it just like three bulbs to change out? Do I just need to buy that first item listed on pitstopauto for $5.45? Is that all I need? Please, if anyone has done this, please give me some info and help.

I just did this mod to my 2002 se. Yes, you have to sand off the green film from the back side of the gauge face. I used 2 blue 194 LED bulbs from ebay. I also put some foil inside where the lights go for more reflection. I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow.
