question about led dome light

just installed a new led dome light in my svt (the festoon one in the middle) whenever it is in the middle position the light still has a very very very slight glow from one of the led's. but when in the off position it does not. Does anyone know why this is? and will it hurt my battery or the light itself?

Im thinking that the led light takes such little current that it lights up even when its in this door open position, but the stock bulb doesnt light up because its a filament type Does this make any sense?

any comments appreciated

on a side note anyone know where i can buy some reverse polarity ba9s led bulbs?

I'm not exactly sure why. I don't know if there's constantly a tiny current running through there all the time anyway or if the capacitor in the circuit causes it to do that, but mine does the same thing. Mine is a 9-led bulb.

Yup mine does the same thing. And I never leave it on anymore cause I'm afraid the battery will die. Do you guys leave it on or no? I might put the regular bulb back in cause as of now when I open my door at night theres not light unless I manually do it.

i have my 4 led's on in my vents all the time. sometimes i forget to turn them off on a sunday night and dont realize it till the following saturday.
the beauty od led's is they have more power but use less power.
i think your battery will be fine. but if u r cautious just put the old one back in

LEDs use next to no power whatsoever...I have an LED flashlight that uses 3 AA batteries, and I change em about twice a year. And the light gets used pretty much constantly. So if two LEDs take 6 months to drain 3 AA batteries, think how long a dome light bulb will take to drain a 12V car battery.

I have an led dome that does the same thing...I can't remember exactly why. BUT, you can leave the light in the center position and have no issues with your battery.

Once you get out of the car and park it for the eve the power to the dome will eventually get cut. There is a timer on it and the computer will shut it down after a lil while. So no worries what so ever. You can even leave your door open and after about 10 - 15 minutes the dome will shut off if the car is in the off position.

I didn't used the led light. But I often used the led flashlight . I think that it's very well.

That is dead on I was working in my car for a short time and had my dome light on and it shut off and scarred me because a relay in the dash clicked and It was really quiet at the time.
