Question MOMO E-Brake Handle

Has anyone here ever replaced their e-brake handle with a MOMO one? I have looked all over for a nice, classy one for my 05 Duratec. I have seen the billet ones and the RS ones, but I think they are kinda cheesy. My car has that carbon-fiber center console, and is all black interior with various steeda add-ons. The MOMO ones are MUCH more money, but I think you pay for what you get, right?

I thought I saw someone on here did the MOMO, but I searched, and cannot find that person. So, was wondering if you guys had done this, and if it worked out well, did you need an adapter (MOMO sells one), did it fit well with the stock boot?

Any input/help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and this is the one I am looking to get:

Opinions?

Thank you, I just did, and you have more reps! I am really curious about the install, if it works right, and fits with the boot....

Hey what's up Nemesis... I got your PM and found the thread, so here you go:

I'm not sure if the '05 ebrake handle is any different than the earlier ones, but I'm guessing they're the same since the center console is the same.

You should remove the entire ebrake assembly as seen below (don't take out the ebrake cable... I used a brand new ebrake assembly which came with the cable, that's why it's in my pictures). Then hammer the cover off... some people have been able to pull it off, but it's on there pretty tight.

You see the flat curved section on the lever in the second pic? That has to be dremelled out so you can extend the length of the section where the handle goes. I don't have a picture of this, but if someone can get me a pic of the lever removed from the side, I can draw a diagram on it to illustrate... Basically, the Momo (and most other aftermarket) ebrake handles are longer than the stock one.

Make sure to use the correct button surround inside the handle. A couple of them come with the handle, and they fit in the top end of handle around the ebrake button. Tighten the four set screws to secure the handle and you're done. Don't over-tighten the set screws, or you'll snap that side of the ebrake handle. It will still hold with three set screws. Ask me how I know.

The Momo handles have a lip on the bottom to secure the boot to it, so no problem there.\

Done:

Hey, thanks man, you have reps. Looks more complicated than I wanted to get though! I was looking to just cut off the old one and put on the new one, without taking out the handle itself. I am surprised, though...how long is it?? My e-brake handle seems really long already, I actually thought that the MOMO might be a bit too short.

Does anyone know if the 2005 handle is any longer than the previous years?

Thanks!

The stock handle is curved on the inside to match the contour of the plastic lever. The Momo handles are all straight inside and slightly longer. It is definitely more work than you'd expect, but worth it in my opinion!

You get what you pay for? Isn't... a handle... a handle? Does the MOMO handle do something else other than pivot? Does it vibrate? Or cool in the heat or warm in the cold? That would be awesome.
