05-07 Cluster w/ tach - $46

Just got an 05 cluster with 17k on ebay for a mere $46! For a tach I'm pretty excited.

Anyone know if I can take out the ABS, traction control and brake bulbs though? I don't like my clusters lit up like a Christmas tree.

If it uses bulbs, then of course you can remove them, else if it uses LED's then just use a spot of electrical tape to tape over the plastic opening, and shove some down inside to cover the LED too, that's what I did.

Good find, cheers!

I'd be willing to bet it uses LEDs. Any other way than electrical tape? I'm not afraid to use it...

It does use LEDs. Electrical tape looks fine if you take the guage faces off and put the black tape on the -back- of the face. Blocks the light completely and looks just fine.

BTW - You'll need to pop your needles off and recal them to do this!

True Klondike, but you can then still see the tape through the little circle instead of the gaugeface plastic.

...though I'm a bit of a stickler for little details. XD

Is the cluster with the tach plug and play or do you have to have a tach driver or something? I have an automatic 05 but have the opportunity to by a cluster locally if its not going to be alot of trouble to swap it out for my tachless one.
