Power Outlet/Cig Lighter Plug

Whats the best, nicest way to remove the white lettering that says POWER OUTLET? I would like a cleeaner look without having to get a billet knob or anything.

You might be able to do it with something like goo gone or some other acetone based cleaner. I know goo gone/off can do a pretty good job of removing stuff.

I tried taking it off with a green scrub pad, took it off fine but looks grey now. think im going to just hit it with some black paint. I also realized while in the escape that i could use one from just about any car that i like. the escape one doesnt have any writing on it but i dont like the shape. I guess im on a weird little journey to find the perfect black plastic cig lighter plug thingy!

I think your best bet is a flat black vinyl spray paint.

I wetsanded mine with 2000 grit, and it came out just fine. You can't tell any writing was ever there, or that anything's been done to it.
