Haha I'm still confused about this whole question. I love the way that yours looks. Is it possible to just buy LEDS of a specific size, take apart the cluster, and solder them in? I know there is a green film on the back of the stock gauges so I would have to use that sand paper technique to remove it correct? If I do this mod will the light spread somewhat evenly or will it look like bright spots throughout my gauges?

Now if I do buy an aftermarket gauge from speedhut or something, all I need to do is install it to get the color change? I don't need to change the bulb colors or anything?

Thanks a lot man!! Take your time as I am currently separated from my focus atm :(. I'm away from home but will get my car back in a few months. I've just been doing research on what I should do while I'm away. I just like things to match on my car and currently the green dash and my bright bright blue Pioneer 6900UB don't really match that well. If I get a bright blue dash I would be much happier with the interior of my car, then work from there.

Thanks again!!

Here's the one I was talking about, my post is #18.
LED Gauge Lights...
Like I say in there, the ones in the write up are crappy blue lights from autozone, but the ones in that thread in post#18 are with "inverted" 194 LED's found on ebay. I really like em, and it was 3 bucks shipped for a pair. Thats all I spent on the cluster, the rest was handywork.

PM me your email address and I'll send you a howto for most of the rest of the stuff. The HVAC dials is hit or miss. I was a hit. All I had to do was wire up some blue SMD's inside the housing, and I got blue HVAC dials. I painted over the arrows with my car's color.

I got led's and smd's from ebay and sold the extras on here, I actually came out about even.

the light on mine spreads evenly. i had thought of that question when i was doing this, but i went for it anyway, and it was a full success!! but, just read the write up in the begining and u'll do fine, i gurantee it. there's no "spot" of the where the light bulb is shining from. and u can do the same technique to ur gauges as well, but i got the set up from ebay but im about to get a different set up from speedhut.com.
