Question Connecting Neons --> Switch

Edit: INSTALLED! PICS ON PG. 3!!! (NO 56K!!!!)

Today I bought a Pilot Switch that has 2 prongs coming off of it, and the instructions say to get a + wire and connect.

The problem is I have a neon light that is connected to the cigarette lighter and has 2 wires.

My plan:
keep the cig lighter adapter and install the switch to the center console running from the cig lighter adapter. From there, the neons will go from the switch.

My questions:
1. Does the Neon lights have + and - sides?
2. (If Q1 is yes) Could I install it in the switch?

No, I want the Cig lighter (non clipped)to power the switch, which then goes to the neons

Wiring is very easy after you do it a few times and short a few things out ;) good luck man

If it were mine, this is what I would do:

1. Tap/splice into the back of the Cig lighter, or run new wires from the battery. (if you run from the battery, install a fuseable link)
2. run the + to the switch then to the neon, and the neg to the neon.

To anwser your questions:

1. Yes, neon has + & - sides
2. Yes you can install it on a switch, provided that the switch is rated for 12 volt supply.

You mean run the wires now, cap them and install the neon later?
