Mtx-75

So since my trans mission is laying under my torn down car for a engine rebuild. I'm tempted to have it rebuilt si o don't have to do abtear down for a few years. What should be replaced in it ? Should I get a kit ? What fluid should I run in this thing

Seems like a good way to spend a lot without much return unless there are existing problems.

Ford Synthetic manual trans fluid (2 qts) is the std. fill, good for another 100k.

345,000 on my mtx75 running ford honey. There is no reason to rebuild yours unless there is an actual problem with it.

i had grinding into second and i rebuilt it myself, the bearing and seal kit cost me about $125, i got a donor trans for the gear, synchros and collars. Its a lot of work because the gears are heat pressed on. took and acetylene torch, a heavy duty gear puller and an impact gun to get them off, and to put them on i had to freeze the shaft and heat the gears to get them on. turned out well and worked out because i had an extra car to drive while i was doing it. wouldnt do it again though.

LSD is around $600-1100; Quiafe, Torsen and Mfactory..not sure how readily available all are
