Hey guys, been seeing a lot of mk1 foci with the st170(?) headlights in them. The nes ith the indicators inside. I see them at rockauto for $63 each, can these go directly into my 2000 zx3? Has anyone done this? Easy? Etc...
Moved to "MK1 Focus". The real ST170s and Machs are not a direct plug-in for our cars. You will need to wire up a harness that fits them to make them work properly. I just checked on Rockauto.com and I don't think you can get those headlights here in the states for that cheap. If you look on the far left you will see the Euro flag, which I think means that it is for parts only in Europe. I am sure you can call them to see about ordering a set, but I think the shipping might be costly. By the way, they aren't plug and play either. If you do get them, here is the wiring schematic complete with part numbers as well.
nothing a little aiming couldn't fix. it isn't like the mach projectors with the cutoff step that'd be on the wrong side.
the hardest part of this will be finding the plugs. in these parts, expect to pay atleast 30+ for the pair, when/if they come around. you could also cut em off an old jetta, but first you gotta find one and then repin the connector.
After shipping, they are $204 for the lights on RockAuto, plus you will need a set of $50 headlight plugs. They are also meant for RHD vehicles. Our cars are LHD meaning the cutoff is completely opposite, you will blind all oncoming traffic and road signs will be harder to read.
