I'm thinking of buying used svt bumpers and skirts for my zx5, but they are silver and my car is black so obviously they'll need to be sanded and repainted. My question is, How much of a pain in the ass is it to sand and repaint bumpers? I've done quite a bit of sanding and painting in the past, but never on a car. Will it be too much of a hassle to do it myself?
Also, has anyone had any trouble with swapping out svt bumpers with standard zx5/zx3 models? And how much should I offer someone for all 4 bumper/skirt pieces that are in fair-good condition? Thanks.

I can tell you I just spent the last few weeks repairing my cervinis front bumper and sanding it down and it was a PITA. I have not put primer on it yet and due to the complexity of the bumper will not trust it to my self to paint. My bumper was also heavily pitted to had to take it down past the color in most places.
Depending on the condition of the paint on the stock bumpers will determin how much you have to sand. you may not need to go much into the clear and if thats the case then you will have less work than if you need to go deeper.
Not sure on the offer. fitment its the exact same car, ZX5 side skirts IIRC are longer than ZX3 so will need to make sure you are pulling from same model for the side skirts, front and rear bumper dont matter.

Side skirt dimensions are the same for zx5 and zx3 (zx5 SVT does not come with them).

I had heard that before and was hoping it was true because the skirts are awesome.

the skirts will fit on a wagon, sedan, zx3, or zx5. The dimensions are the same. The only thing that changes between the body styles is their bumpers for the rear. zx3 and zx5 rear bumpers are the same. Wagons only fit wagons. sedans only fit sedans.
