Just FYI, the SPI is not a bad engine, and not a waste of time. I don't want to start a which is better battle, but the SPI does deserve some credit.

I guess what I meant by that is, chances are I'll spend the same amount of money swapping to a Zetec as I would rebuilding the SPI. From what I can tell, multiple cylinders have been damaged by the valve seat that dropped as there is a large amount of coolant in the oil. There is also a pretty fair amount of oil and debris in the Intake manifold.

I have seen some people post that they saved a pretty significant chuck of change swapping the SPI instead of the Zetec. Not bashing your choice, sounds like you have thought this out well and are making the best decision for you and your ride.

I am very interested to follow the build!
