I'm at a loss :(
[rant]Okay so I bought my 03 zx5 in mid july. I did fuel filter, plugs, air filter, pcv valve and hose. had a 3k+ idle in neutral while driving so I changed the TPS and cleaned the Throttle body. but now I idle in park high around 1250ish and still get some high idle in neutral while driving. Any ideas? [:I]

I'm thinking IACV? I also still have the stumble, which I believe will be my EGR or coil.

BUT WAIT THERES MORE! I can only buy ONE part a month. like, wtf? iknorite. Student loans blow. [:I]

Btw this is an MPG mod hot hatch with the 2.0 ZETEC.

check the pigtail that plugs into the coil, the way the wires are routed sometimes cause them to crack the insulation and expose raw wire (causes arcing and may cause your stumble). It's either that or your IACV

Will do. I plan on replacing wires and coil eventually but like i said can only replace one part a month. [:I]

Maybe a vacuum leak, crud on the throttle body so it doesn't close right, IACV issues.

High idle is because it is allowed to inhale too much air, where is the air getting in?

I just cleaned the throttle body 100%. Anyone got a vacuum line diagram so I can check them all? I know I changed the Pcv hose from manifold to valve. [:I]

If its stumbling while trying to accelerate the most likely culprit is the coil. Had that issue pop up on me a months or so ago. Tried new wires and it still stumbled. Changed coil and no more stumble.

Figured that was my hesitation problem. Was gunna save for screamin demon but I've heard OEM is actually legit. So gunna get an OEM eventually. Probably next part I buy actually. [:I]

All other coils don't actually do anything to improve performance on our cars. Not MSD or screamin demon. Neither one of hem can provide any actually data to show improvement. Plus the ford coil has been proven to be more reliable and last longer than any others. Some of the higher horsepower turbo builds just use a stock Ford coil cuz its more reliable.

That's what I've read so I'm gunna just buy another stock, and I still need new wires. couldn't afford plugs and wires at same time [:I]

If you get another ford oem coil don't go to just any dealership. Call Tommy Vaughn Ford and check price. Usually way cheaper than the regular Ford dealers. You could also call Tousley Ford(they're on FJ) they sell at only 10% over cost. Shipping is usually cheap from Tousley as well.
