ebay projectors

hey all. i just have a little question that i've been wondering about.

i have the "ebay" projectors. they are the Spec-D tuning projectors. the ones some may call "mach-alikes" NOT the R8 style. these have the separate bulbs for high/low beams.

my questios are, if i'm going to get an HID kit for them, what size bulb does this use?
i was told by the previous owner that they use H13 bulbs, which might be the same size as the oem 05-07 bulbs.
also, i'm not sure how this would work with 2 separate bulbs. there's no way i'd buy 2 separate kits for these.

who can help me?

Don't get his in those. Seriously you will scatter light everywhere and blind oncoming traffic. You also can get ticketed as cops are now aware of the dangers

Don't put hid bulbs in the ebay housings. 55w will end up melting the housing and 35w will come close. Have seen it happen to 2 people. As mentioned the projectors are designed for a halogen light throw. Hid requires a different design for proper throw. Hid in these will scatter light and perform badly.

Bimmerkid has been doing a really good retro on his which is what is needed. If you want hid you need to retro in a set of hid projectors into these to do it right. I also have these and will eventually be retrofitting mine with morimoto projectors and other lights similar to what Bimmerkid is doing.

And yes its a h1 bulb.

I've had H1 10K HIDs in my ebay projectors and fogs for 1 year now. No melting of any kind. never been pulled over for them, and no one has ever flashed their high beams because I was "Blinding them".. The light output from them does suck though that's why I put a pair in my fogs as well. Still better then my cloudy stock headlights. There has been arguments about this in the past and its kind of a rule not to debate upon but thats my experience with them, people will tell you & me otherwise so im not going to entertain any replys to this. See Sticky: "About HIDs in Stock Housing"

did you use 35w hids? and is it even much of an upgrade from the normal headlights if the light scatters everywhere?

Uhm sorry, a 35w hid xenon bulb burns much cooler than a 55w/100w halogen bulb, so that is fuzzy logic my friend
