Question Broken Antenna mounting post

Ok, so I was working on the car and put the trunk carpet matte on the roof and hit the antenna (I have the short alum. one there) and it broke off and the post went with it! D'oh. So how hard is it to replace that whole antenna mount?

Thanks in advance,
BigB

I believe you'll have to pull the headliner down to get to the clips or screws from the underside. I just had my headliner out to take my roof rack off, but i didn't look at the antenna and how it was mounted.

nope, its easy...
pull the dome light and its right behind it. uses a torx bit to remove it. parts 14 bucks for the base. youll need a buddy to hold the new one in position while you put the screw back in unless you have a sunroof.

pretty simple and takes 15 min if not less.

I broke mine. Just went to Ford. Went to the store part of the dealership. Picked it up. Had my antenna back up in 15 mins. Really easy. Just undo the dome light and it'll become obvious of what you need to do.

It is a $9.00 part (base) from Ford, and all you have to do is take off the dome light and the antenna mount is one screw. Very easy fix. 15 mins or less

I did the same thing with my 05 ZX5. Aluminum shortys look nice but the no flex part sucks. After two broken antenna bases, I learned my lesson and chopped my factory antenna down to make my own shorty. Now I have great looks, good reception and no more broken antenna bases
