Facelift (2005+) rear bumper on prefacelift (2000-2004) sedan

Anyone tried installing the newer style bumper on their older sedan? I was thinking of getting the S.A.P. rear bumper for my '04 sedan and somehow modifying it to "fit". As far as I know, the only differences in the rear ends are the tailights and the trunk lid.

I'd rather keep the older look on my sedan because I already have Euro tails installed, and I want to "try" and stay true to what the 1st generation European focus should look like IMO, but add a little touch of "coolness" lol

Not that I recall coming across..... check with Brad, another moderator on the forum that is quite versed with the sedan. He's the guy that has the 'strange' members name, click the FF staff link in my signature...

I've seen a pre-facelift sedan with the facelift rear bumper, it does work, but the portion of the bumper that is notched for the trunk to be able to open is a little bit wider on the facelift bumpers.

i have the 05 sedan and im installing a fiberglass body kit from a 00-04 focus,,,i converted the front end into the 00-04 with the fenders and bumper and headlights,grille and hood,,,now im changing the back bumper to the poision rear bumper which looks alot like the SAP bumper

I checked out the poison body kit, but I personally like Ford's two piece diffuser/bumper. Being that my car is white, I think the black-diffuser-on-white-bumper would look sweet! Time to go start hunting for a set now lol

i done it,,i put the 00-04 rear on my 05 focus,,i knew it could be done,,anyways,,,i got pics up also

Hot! i think for mines I'd have to add on like two or three inches to the facelift bumper since my taillights are wider...more work for me lol

u would have to have a fiberglass bumper,,,unless u can figure somehow to redo plastic

...or I could cut the trunk portion off the old bumper and somehow fiberglass it to the new one and make it "blend in". The ideas are flowin, now I just need some money :D
