2013+ ST? DELETE your balance shafts already!!!

The 2013+ Focus ST features a gargantuan pair of counter rotating steel shafts driven by the crankshaft. This unit is designed to smooth out engine vibrations, however it adds not only considerable weight to the front of the vehicle, but adds tremendous mass to the rotating assembly. Removing this unit allows the engine to rev much freer, akin to adding a lightweight flywheel. Remember, the sooner a turbo car gets into boost, the more fun you're going to have. Of course your ALSO transmitting MORE horsepower to the wheels by reducing parasitic drag!

Massive offers this direct fit kit to delete this balance shaft assembly for the 2010+ Ford Ecoboost 2.0 Duratec motor, found of course in your 2013+ Focus ST.

No ill effect to engine balance. Massive has been manufacturing this Duratec / MZR system since 2007 with millions of miles recorded with zero issue.

Manufactured IN HOUSE at Massive Speed’s headquarters right here in the USA !!! Massive’s exclusive ALL lightweight 6061 Aluminum construction offers identical expansion rates to the OE aluminum block for improved seal. Anodized Massive PURPLE and laser engraved with Massive logo. Blue Flourosilicone O Ring offers superior longevity to regular buna materials used by competitors. Hardened grade 12.9 fine pitch bolt and washer for the ultimate in strength. Includes neccesary Loc Tite.

Just $34.99!!!

Very similar to the 23 motors. It does make a BIG noticeable difference.

Would this be a warranty killer?

Absolutely, should you have a problem with the engine later that could be directly traced back to you tampering with the balance shafts and opening the oil pan. Of course that's if you do have power train damage due to the increased vibrations.

Only way to determine it was in there would be if the pan was opened up, and the only reason that would be done under warranty was if your motor was kaput. Which really doesnt happen often/within the warranty period.

Yes, a dealer mechanic might take the "easy way out" and attempt to blame a BSD, but they would have to prove that it caused whatever failure occured per the Magnuson Moss act of 1975.

We all know that removing the balance shafts does NOT reduce engine life, and if anything may increase it by removing the additional stress.

So personally, I wouldnt hesitate to install one if it's under warranty.
