We don't have smog inspections but all cars still require to have a catalytic converter per federal regulations.
Oahu has something called a reconstruction permit which requires any vehicle with modified suspension go through an inspection process. You must have paperwork stating you have done an alignment on your car (within 30 days) present at the recon station in order to pass.
The recon inspectors will look at other things like lighting, ride height and travel, and tint (Hawaii has a 35% tint limit).
Go to forumshawaii.net and hit up the recon/tickets thread. There is a sticky there that has more information about this recon law. Ignore the trolls and everyone else as that forum is a joke.

Everyone talks MOKE on forums hawaii.
Also the tint law is 35% with a ±6% for dirty windows and calibration. So 30% would still be legal technically.
Glad i dont need recon though!

do you guys think my coilovers will fly?

Coilovers are fine as long as they are of proper height (there's a headlight height requirement) and have about 2" of suspension travel.
