They are actual rubber inserts, I don't THINK they will be slippery, or much if that. The SVT OEM pedals are just like that...I don't find those really slippery ever b/c of the rubber.

Thoughts?

That's not exactly what I said. Although considering how adverse most of the MK3 communtity seems to be to modifying their cars at all even this can seem like a radical act.

It's not the factory piece, as Ford wants over $1000 for the factory ST wing, I can't say exactly how much this one cost as it was a gift from my friends.

I've tried to explain before, although personally I've held back from going full bore on suspension changes or engine modifications yet other than the drop in K&N cone filter, the MK3 owners group I am involved with does tend to push the envelope by modifying their cars to suit their tastes, driving habits, or what have you. The itch to modify the car grows stronger all the time.

The modifications can be as subtle as bolting on a wing, putting on a stripe, however the real performance modifications are constrained by the lack of tuning. We've been limited as such for a while now.

There have been lighting modifications made, various combinations of intake modfications from the mundane filter swap, through all the different CAI/SRI systems for the MK3, where some people aren't concerned about emissions or they had the PZEV model with two cats they have swapped in the F2 header from the Gen II duratec which with a little modification works, or have gone with FSWerks race/ stealth exhaust systems, magnaflow, or going completely custom.

Basically if we can do it we try, including someone taking their tan interior and turning it black via some upholstry dye for the headliner and all the trim pieces.

I was on the milder end of the modifications so far, but I have been a tremendous source of knowledge about these vehicles apparently.

Rubber on those doesn't look as raised as SVT ones. That's why I said look slippery.


How many horse powers do they add vs what not buying them and tune or down pipe would?

I'm sure their glad to have such a wealth of knowledge in their midst to help out, if you ever need information on tire selection, motion ratios, spring rates, engine modifying/building part sourcing etc. info the guys in this thread are always here and able to help.

dp = not worth it. 9hp and 9tq. When I have a gain of 68hp and 98tw with the stage 1 tune, that makes like NO point. They will be later if I end up switching turbos or anything. It's a PITA to put them on, and generally people just pull the engine and do a full overhaul at that point.

Tune = soon, whenever APR does their special for Spring.

I like how they look. Why does everything -need- to have a hp gain? That's a dum argument. Obviously putting carbon vinyl on your interior pieces adds 0hp, Jordan. lol

if you like them run them!

I never liked them on the SVT and I had them in the egg and it always made the pedals too slippery when wet.

the DP isn't for hp gain, its for added exhaust music plus then you can run the stage 2 tune. which costs the same as the stage 1 tune.
