lol kevin.

also now i'm torn...

want to get a new suspension on wilhelm this year (hopefully before AutoX season kicks off)

do i get:
1) new stock suspension (and that old school mercedes ride)
2) Lowered suspension (some vogtland springs to kick the car down just a bit)
3) air bags (super floaty, much more expensive, but towing friendly)


the thing that makes me want to go stock is that i'd get to stay in my stock AutoX class.
but knowing that wilhelm's springs are soft as warm butter i'm sure even a new stock suspension will increase the ride height (i like how he sits now)...

this SHOULD be an easy choice... but the eventual plan for the car (ultimate road trip car with towing capabilities) could work with all three if i play my cards right.

Morning all. Svt would barely start today. Its either not getting furl, or not getting spark. Sounded like a cammed hot rod when it did start. Had to keep running with my foot or it would stall. Missed work cause of it.

Any ideas? Its got a new fuel filter from fall last year, as well as plugs. I'm gonna go pull the plugs, and heck them. Would they need a different gap with the fswerks tune? Anyway to check coil pack to see if bad or not? What else could it be

I'd say check the idle air control valve too....I dont recall the exact procedure to check it but thats another possible culprit based on what your describing.

Also meant to multi quote but something went array.

Timmay, I'd say either all stock (which given how old the stock stuff is may be a nice improvement) or some springs if........the dampers can handle them. something 25-30% stiffer than stock (again if dampers will handle it) with minimal drop would be ideal! also are there any strut options available for your car? something like konis/vogtlands would probably be very similar to the konis/h&r's on my car and the perfect mixture of firmness but still comfy.

also keeps the car high enough for rally cross!

ive got one spark plug wire bad, so going to get new ones from Ford. gotta call fswerks to see if i need a different gap as well cause of the tune. this all happened after having the tune on for about 3 days

well there was/is a vogtland group buy but apparently people aren't happy with the quality...

there are rumors of H&R's....

lots of guys with shorter (either cut or by design) springs are running the Bilstein HD dampers (as opposed to the Bilstein comforts that come stock)

ya the idea would be keep him about where he is right now (maybe another half inch down) and make him ride nice...

at this point all stock would be nice for AutoX and road driving but idk how it would look... i'll have to find pics.
