It was a good time. I drove my schools back in 2005/2006 my freshman year but nothing since then since I quit the team.

It was pretty funny. GVSU was there with their test car (which was Oklahoma U's 2005 car apparently). I wanted to drive that one because it seemed to be the more solid of the 2 cars and running better. Hope guys were doing 51.xx laps and the fast GVSU guys were doing 48.xx laps (mind you quickest street car was a miata at 49.xx so both cars were pretty slow). Hoped in the Hope car since the GVSU guys were giving me the run around instead of just tell me no.. The car had a really badly designed shifter so on tight left turns (which the first half of the course had a lot of) my elbow would hit it and keep slapping the car back into nuetral. So my first run (the only one with official timing running) I did a 50.xx with basically the first 1/4 of the track coasting around because I couldn't get the er to stay in gear lol. I want another go in a car that will stay in gear the whole dame time.

Morning all!

aside from racing the Z06 sort of slowly I got to race ZZP's Sonic RS, for how not setup for auto-x that car was I absolutely loved it, totally understand why Mike wound up buying one, I was much more impressed than I thought I would be.

and I was only 3 seconds slower in the Sonic than I was my vette lol

after seeing how well they handle (this one had pfadt coilovers) I'm amazed more aren't being raced, the drive by wire throttle sucks majorly and was pretty laggy but after a couple runs I managed to drive around it decently

What is done to their blue car? I'm assuming the basic bolt ons and a tune.

Hopefully they had the good coilovers on it. I'd imagine so with it being ZZP's car.

Sonics are pretty solid cars.

yup as far as I could tell just basic boltons and tune, it was their SEMA car? not sure which coilovers Tommy Z just said they helped develop them and they were possibly one of the better damped setups I've ever had the pleasure of driving. the stupid 19x10 wheels were wayyyyyyyyyy to heavy for the car but that amount of tire meant it was pretty much flooring it around the whole course.

I'll ask them for some more details.

I would imagine they were the Pedders brand which is backed by GM. They're supposedly VERY nice.

I really hate the exterior of that car but I understand why it was made like that. 99% of Sonic owners like that crazy flamboyant "LOOK AT ME" style. Which sucks.

But ZZP's parts are great and cheap. Not to mention their customer service is top notch. I love that company.
